The L is Silent - 00001
It's been a long time coming but we finally have our first podcast ready for prime time. On today's episode Pete and Jed do a crack a pack from the new set Khaaaaaaaaans of Tarkir. Enjoy!
1) I think Feat could be first picked. not from this pack, but it is on par with the blue morph and black outlaster.
2) i don't like the alpine grizzly. i don't find a lack of three drops in the format, and while most of them are just grey ogres, they also represent a down payment and investment in a future big dude or good ability. I find myself typically with enough morphs that I don't want to play the ones that don't have late game value. the 3/3 first striker and actually the 4/4 artifact are great examples of not quite enough value for me. you have to be careful when you unmorph those guys and you'll only get the blowout potential when the villain is tapped out, because otherwise you are risking huge blowouts on your side.
3) RE: Ugin - I bet if the mothership were readable and if we read the flavor articles, all would become clear.
4) scryb sprites reference
5) "limited sample size" HA!
6) i think you both should both plug the same plugs
The Feat is real good, real real good. I might be too cautious picking early spells/tricks, worried about my creature backbone first.
I think you are undervaluing the alpine grizzly a touch and I'm overvaluing after I fell in love with too many four-drops. Total agreement on the not-quite-overwhelming morphs like the 3/3 & 4/4. Event the white 3/6 morpher is blah.
WHAAAA!?
ReplyDeletelove the content fellas!

| We should plug. We should definitely plug ourselves.
ReplyDeletePhrasing...
